Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore is very nearly breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record of scoring more than 500 runs running in a season twice in the IPL.
As Mumbai Indians' Captain, Tendulkar who scored more than 500 runs running in two versions of the IPL - 618 in 2010 and 553 in 2011. Kohli accomplished this deed as well - 634 in 2013 and 505 in 2015. Kohli's 634 is the most noteworthy runs ever scored by a captain in IPL. He could set another benchmark this season.
Two more IPL captain have scored more than 500 runs running in a season. They are Gautam Gambhir (Kolkata Knight Riders) and David Warner (Sunrisers Hyderabad). Gambhir scored 590 runs running in 17 matches in 2012, with a top score. Warner scored 562 runs running in 14 matches.
